Nepal | Annapurna Mountain Trekking | Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking | Day 2

Day 2 – Ghorepani (2850m/9350ft) (Tikhedhunga > Landruk > New Bridge > Jihnu > Ghorepani)

Trek to Ghorepani. Leaving Tikhedunga, we begin our journey with steep climb to Ulleri. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps).  This is the most difficult part. We almost give up on this part. We keep sitting  at the side of the “stone staircase” where ever there is people, goats or mules crossing us. (This is the only excuse for us to take a rest, if not our Tour Guide have to make sure we keep walking). Over there we saw the local people especially kids running up and down. That is the time you feel embarrassed. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070 m. Then the trail continues to ascend towards Banthanti at 2250 m. Then we make our trek towards Nangethanti (final climb) at 2460 m. From Nangethanti climb to Ghorepani at 2750m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). After an hour walk brings you to Ghorepani at 2775 m. Overnight at The Sunny Guest House
